Consent from a parent or guardian
When a young person needs a parent or guardian to agree, the parent answers from a link without an account, and the participant can follow it and send it again.
Below a certain age, a parent or guardian must agree before a young person’s Award can count. The age depends on your country. A parent or guardian answers from a link in an email, and needs no account.
If you are the parent or guardian
Open the link in the email. It works for a few days and only once. You see what the young person signed up for: the level, the activities and the assessor. Read it, then choose I agree or I do not agree. Your answer is recorded with the version of the text you read, and we mail you a confirmation.
You can change your mind. Choose Withdraw my agreement in the confirmation mail, or open Withdraw an agreement, type your email address and choose Send me a link. The young person’s Award Leader is told.
If you are the participant
Open Your parent or guardian’s agreement from your home page. It shows who was asked and when. If nothing has come back, choose Send again. You can send it again only after a short wait.
If your parent or guardian is with you, choose Agree on this device. Choose who is agreeing, then Send a code. We mail a code to their own address. They type it, read the text and choose I agree or I do not agree. The code works for 15 minutes.
Until a parent or guardian agrees, new activities wait. If they say no, your Award Leader can ask again.
