Setting up an activity
Choose a section and an activity, answer five goal questions, set the time each week and an assessor, then send it for approval.
An activity is what you do in a section of your Award. You set it up in five steps, and it counts once it is approved. A Leader can set one up for a participant they act for, in the same way.
The five steps
Choose Set up an activity. The steps are Section, Activity, Schedule, Assessor and Review. Use Next and Back to move between them.
- Which section is it for? Choose the section. It may ask whether this is your Major, the section you spend longer on.
- What will you do? Search the list and choose Choose, or choose Choose Other and give your own activity a name. Then answer the five goal questions, in your own words or from the ideas shown.
- When and how much? Pick the Start day, which is not before your Award started, and How long each week?
- Who will assess it? An assessor knows you do this and confirms your time. They are not you, and not someone in your family. Choose Same as my Leader, add their name and email address, or choose Add an assessor later.
- Check and send. Tap Change to go back to an answer, then choose Send for approval.
After you send it
Your Leader looks at an activity of your own, one without an assessor or one with a goal question unanswered. Otherwise it is approved automatically.
Open the activity to see its Overview, Your goals and its assessor. Choose Change, or Change and send again if it was returned. You can add photos, voice notes and files to it. A file may be up to 20 MB.
If you are offline, your answers are kept on your device and you send them when you are back online.
The Residential Project
At Gold, the Residential Project has steps of its own, because it is one stay and not a weekly activity. Choose Set up your Residential Project in its row. The steps are What will you do?, Why are you going?, Where is it?, When is it?, Who will you be with?, Who will assess it? and Check and send.
The dates step counts the days and nights you chose, and names any day that your Adventurous Journey or a log of another section already took. The Award asks for a set number of days and nights, and you confirm that you will be with people you do not already know. Once it is approved and your last day has passed, your assessor is asked to assess it.
