When a link does not open
Why a link from an email may not work, what each message means, and how to get a new one.
Some emails carry a link that works without an account. A parent uses one to agree, and an assessor uses one to report. If the link does not open, you land on a page that says why and what to do. You do not need an account here.
What the page tells you
- This link has expired: links last a limited time. Ask whoever sent it to send you a new one.
- This link has already been used: it works once, and it has been. There is nothing more to do. If you think something is wrong, contact whoever sent it.
- This link has been replaced: a newer link was sent to you, or this one was withdrawn. Use the newest link in your email, or ask for a new one.
- We do not recognise this link: it may have been copied only in part, or it belongs to another site. Open it again from your email. If it still does not work, ask for a new one.
- Too many tries: several links that did not work were opened from this connection. Wait 15 minutes, then open the link from your email again.
Getting a new link
Ask the person or the Award Centre that sent it. For a parent’s agreement, the participant or their Award Leader can send it again. To withdraw an agreement you gave, use Withdraw an agreement and we mail you a link.
Open the link from the email itself, not from a copy you typed. A link that was cut short does not work.
